Stellini has become one of our favorite places to eat on
Hilton Head Island. The food is outstanding and resonably priced
and the staff makes you feel like family. It is hard to find
great Italian food in the south and Stellini does it
authentically and very well. The restaurant itself is
comfortable and has a little glass porch for added ambiance. The
waitstaff is extremely professional and pleasant. The owner,
Kyle Parlagreco is involved and accommodating. This is a
wonderful dining experience in every way. You must try the home
made desserts Elise makes. The Tiramisu is one of the best I
every had. We had Zuppa di Pesci (Fish Stew) on linguini and
Bolognese and both were marvelous. Don't miss out on the nutty
martini made with frangelico. It was so smooth and light. I can
not wait for our next trip so we can return to this MUST GO TO
restaurant. They also offer a terrific early bird special from 5
to 6. Eat early and head right down to the beach after.

We packed up the dog and beach chairs and headed from Beaufort to the
Hilton Head beach. We usually just head down Pope Ave and go to the beach
by Coligny Circle but we ran right into the St Patrick's Day parade. We
tried to remember where the other public beach area was and ended up in a
newly developed area full of million dollar homes and a new wonderful
beach park called Driessen Beach. There was plenty of parking using the
parking number and an automated system. Make sure you have quarters or
dollar bills that the machine will take. It is 50 cents an hour a much
better deal than the other beach. They have a picnic area, playground,
restroom and showers. A boardwalk takes you over the dunes to protect them
and is handicap accessible. The beach was great and our golden retriever
loved it. Check out this mid-island new beach park. It really is lovely.
Dogs are only allowed until Memorial Day.

Near Hilton Head is the town of Bluffton. This area has grown
rapidly over the past years. The outlets and big stores are all
located here. We usually just pass by on our way to Hilton Head
but recently ended up in Historic Bluffton center on business.
We asked a local where to have lunch and they recommended
Pepper's Porch. This is a must visit restaurant if you are in
the area. The atmosphere is wonderful with old farm charm. We
ate on the porch and the service was exceptional. Peppers Porch
is located at 1255 May River Road and as they say in their own
words its "Where Seafood and Culture Meet so Drift on in". The
menu is extensive and everything we had was wonderful. The
portion size is huge. We shared fried green tomatoes, a chicken
ceasar wrap, and honey mustard chicken wings. We took home as
much as we ate. The best part was the fried strawberries for
dessert. If you are looking for a true local experience Pepper's
Porch is a must!!
