Can you tell me the name of the candy store that is located in Coligny Plaza. We were there years ago and bought the greatest sea shell candies. Do they have a website?

I am looking for a moderately priced restaurant or facility in or near Hilton Head to have a rehearsal dinner in May, 2008. There will be about 100 people and some type of outdoor space for cocktails would be great. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We visited Hilton Head last week with our 2 year old daughter and our 5
year old son. While there, we wanted to have a romantic dinner out, so we
looked into getting a sitter for a few hours. We ended up getting one
through Hilton Head Nannies (hiltonheadnannies.com). We loved her (Olivia).
She was great with the kids... they took to her instantly. I was a little
nervous leaving the children... but when she got there and I saw how they
responded to her I felt better. I called partway through dinner, and they
were watching a movie. When we got back to the condo, the children were
sleeping peacefully. The sitter said our daughter got a little whiny at
bedtime, but that she had eventually settled down.

It was great to be able to have a night out with my husband. We went to eat
at Truffles in Sea Pines. Everything was great, but you should definitely
get dessert (which is big enough for two).

A great way to get around the island is bikes. We rented our bikes from All American Bikes for the week. They drop them off and pick them up for you. The beach in Hilton Head is very hard packed sand where the water was at high tide. It is great fun to ride up and down the beach. There are bike paths all over the island so it is an easy way to get around and experience the beauty of the island close up. I was not a very good rider so it limited our exploration but I have done it many times before particularly when we lived there. They also offer tandems, which we should have gotten. Definitely a great way to get around!

After a walk on the beach or shopping at Coligny Plaza a great fun spot to refresh yourself is the Big Bamboo. Located upstairs on the ocean side of Coligny plaza the Big Bamboo is very interesting and friendly, The wonderful smell of fresh popcorn hits you right away. We had the two for one margaritas and lots of popcorn. It was a nice break after a very busy day. Try it--you'll like it!

When we are in Hilton Head with our son we must make a trip to Wild Wings Cafe near Coligny Circle. On this visit we had another family coming to spend the weekend in the condo with us. They had small children and would arrive around seven/seven-thirty which is peak restaurant time. Therefore, since Wild Wings was an easy walk from our Condo we ordered two wing sampler platters with 16 flavors. Each platter comes with eight choices. It is our favorite thing to order as a family. Wild Wings is a fun comfortable restaurant. Try it on your next visit.

My peer here at work just got back from Hilton Head and was telling me about some Key Lime hard candy that he had eaten. I am trying to find where I can get a bag or 2 for him of the candy as a surprise gift. He talks about that candy ALL the time!

Thank you so much.

Editors Note: If we knew where he bought it, it would help. The following
page has various Key Lime Hard Candies and a search on Google brings up a
whole lot more. http://www.keylimeshop.com/html/cookies___candies.html
Good Luck

We are celebrating a 60th birthday in September 2007, on Hilton Head Island. We would like to rent a chef for dinner. Is there a culinary school to provide this service? Or can anyone help with this question? When you email, please make sure subject line says Hilton Head Island Chef
-Thanks

I'm not into a lot of shopping or hanging out on the beach. I love nature
and wildlife. What activites are there for me?

Publishers Note:
There is a lot you can do on Hilton Head that involves wildlife. Just biking along the beach or following the bike trails you will see all kinds
of nature--alligators, egrets, heron, etc. Go to Shelter Cove marina to see pelicans and other wildlife. Take a boat, kayak or zodiac trip through the sound and marshes to see dolphin, fishes, birds etc. Take a horseback ride on the beach. Go to a Loggerhead turtle guided walk. (Depends on time of year) Check in with the Coastal Carolina Nature Museum and see what activities they offer. Pickney Island is a wildlife refuge. Of course activities are seasonal so check the pamplets when you arrive and I'm sure you will find plenty of wonderful wildlife and nature activities. Have a wonderful trip.
