A nice place to try at the beach is the Avista Resort. We will
be staying there this October. It is modern with nice amenities.
I have also noticed that a number of older resorts are
demolishing the older buildings and putting up new high rises.
Watch in the near future for them.

I am looking for information on places to stay in Myrtle Beach
for the summer. I plan on working there and I need information
on monthly rental places at a descent price, and hopefully some
that are pet friendly as well. I have a dog, that travels
everywhere with me. She can't be left behind. If anyone knows
who I should contact, or where I could go to find this
information please contact me. I would greatly appreciate it.

stay at the compass cove and enjoy all of the swimming pools,
lazy rivers, or stay at the Landmark resort, or the coral beach
resort. My kids have gone there since being 6 months old, about
6 times a year, and there is plenty to do. ONe of my kids is
only 3 and loves to go there. Shopping, aquariums, broadway at
the beach, and lounging in the lazy river for hours...

In a respone to a place to stay. Over Spring Break my friend
stayed at the Best Inn and Suites....in the heart of Myrtle
Beach and everything else. They stayed for a week..the oldest

were and how there were no rules...they said it was liek a party
hotel. The rooms are cheap too...I just called there this week
and I got rates from July 17-24. 73+tax for sideview....83+tax
for oceanview...pretty damn cheap for summer weeks!!! Any

We went recently to Myrtle Beach and had a great time. Sea
Captain's House was terrific for a good meal and a view of the
sea. River City Cafe was really good for hamburgers and fries.
Duffy Street Seafood Shack was great; good food on the cheap.
NASCAR Cafe was good; mostly atmosphere. We avoided the buffets;
$25 or more is too much for someone who will only make one trip
anyways.

Weekend of April 16. I have read a few comments here about the
Dayton House and their management so I couldn't resist throwing
my 2 cents in the pile. Short and sweet, first trip to MB in 20
years, 4th anniversary, actually our honeymoon (yeah were poor
folk). 2nd night their at 3 am the fire alarm went off and we
were evacuated down fifteen flights of stairs. Was told only
that the casue was dust got in some sort of filters. No sooner
did we fall back asleep the alarm went off again and yes, we
were again evacuated down fifteen flights of stairs. The next
night about the same time, the fire alarm went off again. My
wife called the lobby this time before we ran down the stairs
again and they told her it was a false alarm. No explaination no
apology. I guess one good night of sleep out of three wasn't
worth an apology. The Dayton House should reconsider their noise
pollution policy.

A good place to stay during Senior Week would be the Quality Inn
By the Shore. The rooms are nice and the staff is very friendly
and easy going. It is right behind the Beach House bar and
within walking distance to the pavilion and Freaky Tiki, etc. It
is not right on the ocean, it is on Withers. The people that
stay there are also young.

I have been to the Myrtle Beach area at least one time each year
since 1985. My wife and I began going in 1986, and our 13-year
old has been every year since birth. We usually stay either at
the south end or in North Mytle. The past couple of years we
have stayed at The Blockade Runner in the Cherry Grove-Ocean
Drive section of North Myrtle. The motel is extremely nice, and
reasonably priced. Boulineau's IGA Store is located within
walking distance, and they have about anything you need,
including groceries, a cafeteria, bakery, ice cream, fishing
supplies, etc.
We hope to go back later this summer, and pay a visit to
Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington Beach State Park. It's been
years since we were at either. Both are located south of the
Myrtle Beach area, but well worth the miles. The last time we
were there, Huntington Beach reminded me of the way the beach
was when I was a kid. We really go down there for the beach, the
ocean and sun anyway, so the peacefulness of Huntington is
great.
I have many fond memories of visits to the Myrtle Beach area.
We've made reservations again at the Blockade Runner for May,
and we're looking forward to the trip.

us, we have no idea where to start looking. Give us as much
information as you can handle. Where to eat, shop, play and
sleep. In that order. We do not have to sleep close to the
beach, as, we both have year round tans. Although, I need a
little sun. PLease help out the Northerns from Pa. We do plan to

My husband and I return every year to The Water's Edge Resort
during the off season at Myrtle Beach. The rooms are
spectacular, the accomodations lovely and we enjoy the friendly
staff! We honeymooned there and loved the ocean side balconies
sipping mimosa's and watching the sunset! The pools are indoor
and outdoor with two jacuzzi' that were never really crowded and
we always managed to catch the Jacuzzi's when no one was in
them. If they allowed pets we would continue to stay there
faithfully but now we are the proud parents of two adorable
chihuahuas so we travel to pet friendly resorts when possible.
We HIGHLY recommend this lovely and pleasant resort within
walking distance of the Pier and live entertainment!

I just made reservations at the Crown Reef for March. I got a
ridiculously low rate for an ocean front eff. room. They are
running a special but, rates increase after the 16th of March.
We were there several years during peak season summer heat wave.
First trip, made reservations from brocure for Cabana Inn. After
inspecting suicide- inspiring rooms that reeked of Lysol and the
pool, nicely decorated with concrete blocks we declined to stay
there. The rates were high and our kids were small so we settled
for the El Dorado. This is a nice, economical place to stay
across the street from the ocean. The staff and housekeepers
were very friendly and helpful. Both outdoor and indoor pools
were adequate and clean. If you stay here, park out front. The
last day we were here three cars parked out back were broken
into. I was driving a mini van at the time and escaped
vandalism. Anyway, the Crown Reef was brand new then and right
across thr street. I promised myself I'd stay there if I ever
visited MB again and I'm looking foreward to visit. I've heard
nothing but positive feedback about this resort.

I have been to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina many many times and
always stay with the very accomodating folks at Tee & Sea
Rentals located on Bay Tree Golf Plantation on HWY # 9 just a
mere 5 minutes drive away from the Atlantic Ocean one of the
nicest parts of the beach... 1-800-BAY-TREE is the number to
call if you want excellent accomodations, Golf Packages or
whatever your needs may be they can accomodate you. Janie is the
Lady that i've dealt with over the years and always taken
great care of my vaction needs...
Great places to eat at are :
The Parsons Table (Little River) 5 minutes from Bay Tree
Casa Villa (Little River) Awesome Mexican Food
Duffy Street Seafood Shack (Main Street in North Myrtle Bch)
Chiantis (Little River) Great Italian Food
Shopping :
Just over the border in Calabash, North Carolina is the "Low
Country Stores" what a lovely place to stop and shop with some
of the Carolinas friendliest store owners. My grandkids thought
"Karolina Kidz" rocked...
I hope you all have many wonderful adventures and memorys to
last a lifetime while visiting Myrtle Beach. It's the best home
away from home place i've ever been to.
