Me and about 6 of my friends are planning a spring break trip to
myrtle beach and we are looking to rent a condo for more room.
However most of them say you have to be 25? Does anyone know
where i can find some condos who rent out to 20-21 year olds?
Thank you

Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vacation cut short...stayed at
Captains Quarters in Myrtle Beach, SC..someone broke into our
room while we were sleeping and stole wallet....motel found our
door wedged open at 2:55 in the morning...security closed our
door and reported to front desk...however front desk never
called room or reported this to us..when realized someone had
been in our room while sleeping was when we got ready to go to
the beach the next morning around 7:30 and couldn't find
husbands wallet...Manager of this facility not really concerned
with this incident, told us he would get around to checking to
see why front desk never reported this to us..Good thing we were
not harmed in the middle of the night...Who would have taken the
time to see?

We are a family of 4 with 2 girls (age 7 & 5) from Missouri. We
just got back from our first trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. Initially
we were very hesitant of what to expect from our hotel. We
stayed in a 3 bedroom condo at the Breakers resort located on
21st Ave and Ocean Drive. Just a side note, we traveled with my
dad, older sister and her family (2 girls 18 and 15).
We were pleasantly surprised on how our trip went. First of
all, the Breakers resort was wonderful. The views were amazing,
the water park and lazy river was a huge hit with my girls. And
the beach was literally just a 20 foot walk from the pool area.
At the most crowded times, the beach still felt like it had
plenty of room.
Research about high and low tide. Low tide was more kid
friendly. Beach chairs and unbrella was $30. Restuarants were
bountiful. We ate alot of fresh seafood ($20 average). Of course
they still have chicken fingers and pizza for the kids. Out of
the 6 day trip, our best day was spent in Georgetown, a fishing
town 45 min. south of MB. Took a boat ride 14 miles into the
ocean and got dropped of to shell on a secluded island. Saw
dolphins, gators and stingrays. It was cool.
Our worst day was standing in line for hours at the newly
constructed and highly touted Boardwalk Shops (if you go, drive,
don't walk) and Ripleys Aquarium. That was an enormous rip off
and disappointment. Save your money. Seriously. Of course, just
like anywhere, MB does have its cheesy touristy crap. Little
overpriced stores and what not. But if you go with that
understanding, you will find something that fits your family.
Overall, MB was great. We will go back.

Regarding shark cage diving: There is no place inside the U.S.
that do this as far as I am aware. I do know there are several
places in South Africa that will allow a certified SCUBA diver
to cage dive with the sharks but you have to be certified to a
minimum of 70 feet with at least 20 logged dives. The cost
varies from around $3000 - $5000 per person.(This is one of the
things I want to do soon as well).

reply to umbrella and chair rental.
Umbrellas are $150.00 per day if you get the plain ones, white,
blue, yellow. If you get stripes, tack on another $10.00. As far
as chair rental, you might as well bring your own, lots of
places charge by the week, $250.00, but if you are lucky, you
might find a couple bums or drunkards you could bribe into
kicking someone out of a chair. If all else fails and there are
no chairs to be found, go out late late at night and sleep in
one of them so you will have a chair the next morning.

I worked at the Outrigger for 17 years. Lattie, jr. is my ex
brother in law. I know there is a cook book which I can try to
get for you. Alot if the staff from there including some of the
Upchurch's (my nieces & nephew) work with me at the restaurant I
work at in North myrtle beach. I will see if I can get at least
the recipe or a cook book for you.

There are plenty of places with outside grilling. Actually have
you checked with your hotel. I know Compass Cove has grilling
facilities by the pools.
And of course there is always the Myrtle Beach State Park. If
you are on s ocean blvd continue south until it ends. Make a
left on kings hwy and go appx 1 mile. You'll see it on the left.
Its awesome. Big picnic areas, grills and still access to the
beach.
